Tuesday April 7, 2020 “Church of Logic, Sin and Love” The Men
Initially thought this might be a Sunday song, you know church in the title and all, but then good judgement prevailed and it felt like Tuesday would be a better choice.
Hands up, who has even heard of The Men (not the punk band from Brooklyn)? That’s what I thought, but this is a band that should have gotten much more notoriety than they did, and how many of those stories are out there. Their initial 1992 self-titled, good luck finding it, only cd/album is chock full of songs that should have you wondering why you never have heard of them before…or maybe not. And yes, two of The Men are indeed women.
Probably not a sing-along but the lyrics are below because you will want to give a shot at figuring out just what the church of logic, sin and love might be…and of course what The Thing is and possibly where both of them might be. Couple of solid guitar solos you could turn up to 11 for.
In the meantime, this song reminds us that as we distance ourselves not so much from one another but from the virus that perhaps everything indeed will once again be aquamarine, aquamarine and in the meantime I just have to 'smoke a cigarette and wear a hat'.
Be safe and well.
