Thursday April 23, 2020 “It’s a Beautiful Morning” The Rascals

Those of you who were at the beginning of this musical adventure might remember that this is a repeat of the first ever 'song of the day', and might possibly be asking, wait surely there are enough good songs in the world to get to before we start repeating them. Obviously there are, so why go back to the beginning?

Well for two reasons; first ‘Its’ a Beautiful Morning’ really is a fun, happy tune worth a second listen but I also realized that we began singing and dancing together exactly one month ago on March 23 and who would have imagined at that moment that we would be a month down the road and still finding ourselves overwhelmed with this damn virus and all of its implications.

So let music and The Rascals provide that brief diversion from the corona overload and remind us once again that there will be a beautiful morning soon so ‘plan (for) another brand new day.’

BTW, the group of musicians who eventually became The Rascals toured as the Starliters with Joey Dee (The Peppermint Twist) in the early 60’s when everybody seemed to be doing the Twist. Also Dino Danelli, one of the truly underrated rock drummers, is not only solid in this live performance but is just darned fun to watch. Love those 60's fashions.

Be safe and well…and go outside and just smile.

It's a beautiful mornin'
I think I'll go outside a while,
An just smile.
Just take in some clean fresh air, boy
Ain't no sense in stayin' inside
If the weather's fine and you got the time.
It's your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day.
Either way,
It's a beautiful mornin'
Each bird keeps singin' his own song.
So long
I've got to be on my way, now.
Ain't no fun just hangin' around,
I've got to cover ground, you couldn't keep me down.
It just ain't no good if the sun shines
When you're still inside,
Shouldn't hide, still inside, shouldn't hide,

There will be children with robins and flowers;
Sunshine caresses each new waking hour.
Seems to me that the people keep seeing
More and more each day, gotta say, lead the way,
It's okay, wednesday, thursday, it's okay,
Monday, wednesday, friday, weekday
