Tuesday February 23, 2021 “The Weight” Too Many to Mention

One of my favorite song of the dayers (you know you are all my favorites) shared a group of songs with me that I need you all to check out and enjoy.

The series is called “Playing for Change” and it supports the thought that music is a powerful force for change in all of our lives.  It is the universal language that can change our moods, it can deliver us to a specific moment in time, it can excite us, it can depress us, it can get us to dance, to sing along, to be happier people and it can move us to action.  It can unite us.

And this concept is supported by so many artists both famous, as in known to you and maybe not so famous, but still amazing musicians. This first sample, “The Weight”,  is a song originally done by the Band which was written by Robbie Robertson who is featured prominently on guitar along with Lukas Nelson, Marcus King, Larkin Poe Band, a drummer named Starr and an Italian guitarist Roberto Luti that I need to hear more from along with some amazing singers and musicians from around the world.

Pretty sure you will enjoy this video and then dive into more of the many other Playing for Change videos which will all remind you, only if you have forgotten, of the power and joy of music. Check them all out, “Playing for Change”.

Stay safe and well...and put that load right on me.

I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin' about half past dead

I just need some place where I can lay my head

Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed

He just grinned and shook my hand, no was all he said

 Take a load off Fanny

Take a load for free

Take a load off Fanny

And (and) (and) you put the load right on me

(You put the load right on me)

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide

When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side

I said, hey, Carmen, come on let's go downtown

She said, I gotta go but my friend can stick around

 Take a load off Fanny

Take a load for free

Take a load off Fanny

And (and) (and) you put the load right on me

(You put the load right on me)

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say

It's just ol' Luke and Luke's waitin' on the Judgment Day

Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee

He said, do me a favor, son, won'tcha stay and keep Anna Lee company

 Take a load off Fanny

Take a load for free

Take a load off Fanny

And (and) (and) you put the load right on me

(You put the load right on me)

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog

He said, I will fix your rack if you'll take Jack, my dog

I said, wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man

He said, that's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can

 Take a load off Fanny

Take a load for free

Take a load off Fanny

And (and) (and) you put the load right on me

(You put the load right on me)

Catch a cannon ball now to take me down the line

My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time

To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one

Who sent me here with her regards for everyone

 Take a load off Fanny

Take a load for free

Take a load off Fanny

And (and) (and) you put the load right on me

(You put the load right on me)
