Saturday August 6, 2022 “Help Me” Low Cut Connie
Like most of you I have so many favorite bands and some long term song of the dayers know that Low Cut Connie (Adam Weiner) is my favorite current band. Weiner is a talented musician, guitar and piano, gifted songwriter, amazing singer and he possesses a depth of historical musical knowledge that always leaves me wondering, ‘how does he know all that’.
Low Cut Connie's low cut profile rose significantly after the release of their album Hi Honey, thanks in no small part to President Barack Obama placing their song, "Boozophilia," on his 2015 summertime playlist.
LCC is as much about performance as they are about their music and the dynamic Weiner is balls to the wall at live events bringing an energy and enthusiasm that draws his audiences in with part Elton John and part Jerry Lee Lewis and all rock & roll frontman.
Weiner got many of us through those initial crazy covid years with a weekly web show every Saturday night called Tough Cookies filled with off color humor, high energy, great music, fun covers and tons of positivity. Tough Cookies, as described by Weiner "is a concert, a church service, a support group, a strip club, a punk club, but mostly a soul music variety show."
He would constantly remind his audience “I love you guys so much!” And you know, I believed him. Should you see that LCC is playing in your area I would suggest that you go see them, it will be a great show.
Stay safe and well…and I just realized that I bookended this week with two ‘help me’ songs. “Help Me Suzanne” on Monday and today’s LCC song “Help Me”...so accidentally clever.
