Wait, what?  Is this Rod Stewart covering yesterday’s Alphaville song, nope this is Rod doing his own version of forever young but with a slightly different take.

This “Forever Young” co-written by Stewart has its focus on a father and child with the video showing Rod singing to a young boy, who is not actually his son but rather Alex Zuckerman who as an adult actor would go on to appear in such memorable films as Christmas in Oz and The Nome Prince and the Magic Belt.

Stewart was quite a strong soccer player who played center-halfback with “a style that combined his natural athleticism with reckless aggression” according to his coach.  He was the captain of his school team and was rumored to have passed on the opportunity to play professional soccer to pursue a music career.  He continues to be an avid soccer fan following Premiere League team, Manchester United.

 Stewart like Ponce de Leon may have found that fountain as he has eight children.
