Wednesday September 29, 2021 “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” Rolling Stones
Another nonsense title, but this time about really dark and serious nonsense from the Rolling Stones.
Not based on true incidents according to Mick Jagger who said in a 2020 interview that he can't remember any specific inspiration. "It's the timing," he said. "New York is a violent place. America is a heavy-handed police state. We can go back 100 years and it's probably even heavier. Obviously, all that time ago it was heavy in a lot of places, heavy now and heavy before."
And today we might add 'heavy still.’
The Rolling Stones have been labeled as the “World’s Greatest Rock & Roll Band”, perhaps by themselves, and while their records weren't always blockbusters, they were never less than the most visible band of their era. And always bear in mind that while many rock & rollers pride themselves with their lack of education, Mick Jagger is a graduate of the London School of Economics and has always had the business side of the Rolling Stones in his sight.
In the beginning there were six, not five Rolling Stones: Mick, Keith. Charlie Watts, Brain Jones, Bill Wyman and keyboardist Ian Stewart. Stewart toured constantly with Stones but was not considered as attractive enough to be front stage by the Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham.
Worse looking than Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts or Keith Richards...
Stay safe and well...and enjoy this top twenty song from the Stones number one album Goats Head Soup.
