Sunday September 13, 2020 “Must of Got Lost” J. Geils Band

And they are connected to director David Lynch and actress Faye Dunaway.

The J. Geils Band were a bar band pure and simple, churning out great covers of obscure R&B, doo wop, and soul tunes, spicing them with a healthy dose of swagger.  Seth Justman, guitarist and the group's main songwriter, could also turn out catchy R&B-based rockers including today’s "Must of Got Lost," but these early hits never led to stardom, primarily because the group had trouble capturing the energy of its live sound in the studio.

Front man Peter Wolf, well-known in the Boston radio market as a jive-talking WBCN DJ called Woofuh Goofuh (?) before joining the band, after a short stint with still unknown band The Hallucinations, provided the vocals, energy and craziness that helped move J Geils Band from bar band into stadium after some additional successful albums/CDs and MtV videos.

And while attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Peter Wolf, ended up rooming with surrealist director David Lynch who wound up kicking Wolf out of the apartment, saying that he was "too weird." As if anything could be too weird for David Lynch. Wolf was aso married to actress Faye Dunaway (1974-1979).

Stay safe and well...and try not to get lost.

Never thought about tomorrow

Seemed like a long time to come

How could I be so blind, baby

Not to see you were the one

I let you slip on from me honey

I let you walk on by

I refused the love you had for me

I refused the love and let it die

(Refrain)

I must of got lost, I must of got lost

I must of got lost somewhere down the line

I must of got lost, I must of got lost

To give away the day that you were mine

Love can be a sweet thing

I just don't understand

I made a game of loving

And now I hold the losing hand

 (Refrain)

 I just can't understand it

I just can't understand it

I just don't understand it, and

I must of got lost, I must of got lost

I must of got lost somewhere down the line

I must of got lost, I must of got lost

To give away the day that you were mine
