Friday January 8, 2021 “Boozophilia” Low Cut Connie

Alright we have gotten off to a slightly mellow start to 2021 so let’s kick it up a notch or two... or maybe three with Low Cut Connie.

We have had LCC on Song of the Day before but to contradict a familiar cliche you can never have too much of a good thing. The band, basically frontman, pianist, songwriter Adam Weiner has been ‘bubbling under’ for some time on the brink of stardom hampered by the current non-performing environment because LCC needs to be seen as well as heard.

If you are not familiar with LCC think equal parts Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis and throw in a touch of James Brown, mix in some Elton John, add equal amounts of talent and insanity and spice him up with lyrical content inspired by a coked out William Burroughs.

If any of this intrigues you, check out Low Cut Connie’s regular online covid series (67 episodes so far I think) called “Tough Cookies” but be forewarned that the performances have some language issues and a man who frequently winds up playing and singing in his underwear.  It is however high energy musical lunacy and thoroughly enjoyable.

Stay safe and well...and if you should need a quick spirit lift, let Low Cut Connie help you out.

Come on

They got no time for me

Just living in the city

Living on the bad streets

Sleeping in a balcony

They don't know we've been done

They don't know what, what we believe

We're getting down here with the people

Down with the gospel truth

Down in Boozophilia

Down with a broken tooth

We're on the south-side of Chicago

Down here in the groove

Down in West Virginia

Looking down with you

Me and little Anthony

We live in south Philly

We're living with Marie

She keeps me on the edge of my seat

Every time we be home

We don't know what she's gonna be doing

We don't know what we're gonna be talking

We're getting down here with the people

Down with the gospel truth

Down in Boozophilia

Down with a broken tooth

We're on the south-side of Chicago

Down here in the groove

Down in West Virginia

Looking down with you

I can open up a bakery

Maybe that's just what I need

A little of your paternity

A banjo on my knee

I don't care what we do

We can go to the beach

We can go get stoned

I'm happy we're...

We're getting down here with the people

Down with the gospel truth

Down in Boozophilia

Down with a broken tooth

We're on the south-side of Chicago

Down here in the groove

Down in West Virginia

Looking down with you
