Monday December 21, 2020 “Doo Wop Christmas” The Doo Wop Project

There really are no bad Christmas songs, “Christmas Wrapping” does come to mind pretty quickly though, and there are no bad genres for holiday music so let’s begin our short Christmas week with some super energetic holiday doo wop.

The singers, the Doo Wop Project, wearing traditionally bad holiday sweaters, consist of Broadway cast members of “Jersey Boys” and “Motown” and they do a wonderful 2020 (2018 actually) interpretation of the street corner harmonies that were so prevalent in the 50’s and early 60’s with a spirited, driving, super happy, jingling holiday song

They’re streaming a Holiday Watch Party on December 22 ($20, not an endorsement)

Stay safe and well...and we’re only 4 days away from the big day so any letters you haven’t already sent to Santa will need to be digital (santa@officialsantaemail.com)...really!

Also be sure to check out the star of Bethlehem in the skies tonight for the first time in 800 years.

No complete lyrics to be found, at least by me, so what follows is my very rough interpretation, minus Russell’s snowless ‘ooooohs’ and most of the ‘ding dongs’.  Feel free to insert your own interpretations, clap your hands and bounce along though.

Ding-Dong 8x

Ding-Dong-Ding

Sleigh bells are ringing

Snowflakes are falling

Carolers singing out in the street

It's holiday season

Everything Christmas should be

The kids of all ages are waiting for Santa

Carolers singing out in the street

It's holiday season and everything Christmas should be

Santa and his reindeer are covered with snow

Jane and John under the mistletoe

Everyone together on this silent night

Singing doo wop by the fire, everythings alright

Frosty the snowman, Donner & Blitzen

Aunt Sarah's waiting trimming the tree

It's peace for all nations

Everything Christmas should be
