Saturday March 28, 2020 “A Little Bit of Soul” The Music Explosion

Most of you have probably never heard of the Music Explosion, heck I don’t think even their parents knew these guys were a band. They exploded on to the scene in 1966 with this top ten hit and then exploded right out of the scene never to be heard from again. But like all the great rock ‘n roll philosophers they left us with these sage words of advice, ‘when you’re in a mess and feel like cryin…just remember what I said about a little bit of soul.’

The lyrics are below if you wanted to sing along, or maybe just one listen will be enough.

But consider this, where else do you find wisdom like this, except rock ‘n roll?

Whatever your interpretation of soul might be, a little bit of it is a thoughtful consideration right now, you might even think about upping the ante and going with a whole lot of soul instead.

Whichever, be well and happy…oh yeah and enjoy the video, sometimes the reasons for failure can be obvious.

Easy to play bass line intro which runs through the song, check the www

G C D G
Now when you're feelin' low and the fish won't bite
You need a little bit o' soul to put you right
You gotta kneel and pray
And then a little bit of soul will come your way

Now when your girl is gone and you're broke in two
You need a little bit o' soul to see you through
And when you raise the roof with your rock'n'roll
You'll get a lot more kicks bit o' soul

D G A D
And when your party groovin'
A little starts movin', yeah

G C D G
And when you're in a mess and you feel like cryin'
Just remember song of mine
And as you go through your goal
Just remember bit o'soul

(A little bit o' soul)
