Wednesday April 27, 2022 “Hanginaround” (spelling correct) Counting Crows

Let’s stick with the crows for another day, these are apparently are the ones that count though.

Just for clarification and to satisfy my need to know where band names originate, the band's name is "Counting Crows" not "The Counting Crows." It refers to a phrase "Counting Crows" which means pointless, like "that is about as pointless as counting crows."  Actually I have never heard that expression.

Counting Crows have recorded seven full length top ten albums, five live albums, and one recent four song EP.  Primarily an album oriented band, Counting Crows have only had two top ten songs but their songs get tons of well deserved radio airplay.  They have sold over 20 million records, released seven studio albums that have been certified gold or platinum and been nominated for two Grammy Awards and an Academy Award.

I know this was included in a previous Counting Crows song of the day but it is worth repeating. Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz tended bar at Los Angeles' famed Johnny Depp owned Viper Lounge throughout the entirety of the band's peak of fame. Duritz didn't specify if he was on the payroll, collecting tips, or doing it for free.

Today’s video for “Hanginaround” was shot in the living room of a house the band shared, and included their real friends appearing in it.
