Saturday October 10, 2020 “Go Your Own Way” Fleetwood Mac
Closing out harmony week with Lindsay Buckingham’s musical farewell to Stevie Nicks.
Fleetwood Mac was originally formed by Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie who had all played in John Mayall's Blues Breakers. They started as a blues band, with modest but successful sales of every album until their 1975 self-titled effort, which was the first to include Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks..
“Go Your Own Way”, written by Lindsay Buckingham, was the first single from the Rumours album/CD, which became one of the best-selling albums/CDs of all time and would go on to sell forty million copies. The band has recorded seventeen albums/CDs, has sold over 120 million albums worldwide, won three American Music Awards, a Juno Award, Brit Award and a Grammy and are members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame..
An interesting aside, Lindsay Buckingham's brother, Greg, was a competitive swimmer who won a silver medal in the men's 200-meter individual medley at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City.
Stay safe and well...and they may have ended their relationship but Buckingham and Nicks still made fine music together.
