Wednesday September 23, 2020 “It’s a Beautiful Morning” The Rascals

We have hit a milestone.

Taking a break from the covers for a moment as today marks six months of Song of the Day which we began back on March 23 at the beginning of all this craziness.  Who of us imagined back then that in September we would still be dealing with this virus, a ragged economy with so many people unemployed, long standing businesses either gone or threatened and so much more and with no real end in sight.

Song of the day has been good fun for me and I hope that you have found it to be at least a small diversion at the beginning of each day. Music should always be an essential part of our lives.

The music will continue with Song of the Day as long as we need it and we will be back to the covers tomorrow but in the meantime let's go back to the very first song of the day with The Rascals and their most optimistic “It’s a Beautiful Morning”.

Stay safe and well...and take the Rascals advice and do go outside and just smile.

It's a beautiful mornin'

I think I'll go outside for a while,

And just smile.

Just take in some clean fresh air, boy

Ain't no sense in stayin' inside

If the weather's fine and you got the time.

It's your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day.

Either way,

It's a beautiful mornin'

Each bird keeps singin' his own song.

So long

I've got to be on my way, now.

Ain't no fun just hangin' around,

I've got to cover ground, you couldn't keep me down.

It just ain't no good if the sun shines

When you're still inside,

Shouldn't hide, still inside, shouldn't hide,

There will be children with robins and flowers;

Sunshine caresses each new waking hour.

Seems to me that the people keep seeing

More and more each day, gotta say, lead the way,

It's okay, wednesday, thursday, it's okay,
