Sunday December 26, 2021 “In My Life” The Beatles

We are in the last week of the year and although it has been a struggle getting here, this moment  presents us with an opportunity for optimism, reflection, new commitments, remembrance, resolutions, plans, learning, meditation, promises and of course …lists.  

So I thought that it would be appropriate to create the “Best of Song of the Day 2021”.  Understand that for me, every song, each day is a song that I like but I went back and decided to put together those songs that I thought could be the top seven Songs of the Day from this past year…knowing it wasn’t going to be easy to get it down to only seven from this year’s list of nearly 350 great tunes. 

Turns out that after I went through all the songs from 2021 to select what I felt would be the Best of 2021 I had a list that was nearly 350 songs long.  So I decided to limit the selection to only new songs from perhaps unfamiliar artists that appeared on the 2021 list, with this one exception. And with each song I have included some reasoning as to why it was selected, so here we go, in no particular order.

So we start with the beautiful John Lennon tune “In My Life” which needed to be on the list because, well it just needed to be on the list.
