Monday February 1, 2021 “Moment in the Sun” Sunflower Bean

The band name evolved from one of the founder's passion for sunflower seeds alongside his co-founder’s concurrent love of coffee and coffee beans.  I guess there have been stranger inspirations.

 Sunflower Bean’s beginnings were in the Long Island basement of drummer Jacob Faber’s parents where he wrote and played songs with guitarist Nick Kivlen.  The two met Julia Cumming who was coming out of the band Supercute as it dissolved and the trio that is now Sunflower Bean was complete.

 Garnering favorable performance reviews from sources like NPR’s All Songs Considered and journalists like New York Times music critic Jon Pareles the band has released two studio albums and three EPs, the third one which contains ‘Moment in the Sun’ and an earlier Song of the Day ‘Come for Me’.

 And the video, yeah someone thinks they are a creative director and since none of the other band members are included, it would seem like Julia Cumming, star of the video and lead singer, is possibly breaking out for a solo career.
