Tuesday September 14, 2021 “I Need Never Get Old” Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats

So here’s a sentiment we all harbor, that fountain of youth fascination “I Need Never Get Old”, but truth be told, this is a love song.

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats are an overnight success but like so many overnight successes before them their night started in 2002 with a band called Born in the Flood and then went through several transformations and solo adventures before they hit that overnight.

Today’s song,”I Need Never Get Old” is not technically a 2021 tune in that it is on the eponymous 2018 Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats album.  However it has gotten considerable radio airplay recently so we will include it with our 2021 theme. This song, like most of the tunes that Nathaniel Rateliff and friends sing, was written by Rateliff.

I don’t usually read comments on these videos but I really enjoyed this one about Nathaniel Rateliff and the boys:  “My neighbors liked this song so much they threw a brick through my window to listen to it louder.”
