Saturday May 8, 2021 “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love” Barry White
Barry White has one of the most immediately identifiably and 'erotic' voices in music.
White grew up singing gospel songs with his mother and taught himself to play piano. He made his recording debut at the tender age of 11, playing piano on Jesse Belvin's hit record "Goodnight My Love" and he made his first record when he was 16 with a group called the Upfronts.
He would go on to produce and arrange songs for groups as diverse as the Bobby Fuller Four and the Fifth Dimension before he founded the Love Unlimited Orchestra.
A two-time Grammy Award–winner known for his bass-baritone voice and romantic image, White’s greatest success came in the 1970s as a solo singer and with The Love Unlimited Orchestra, creating many enduring soul, funk, and disco songs including his two biggest hits: "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" and today's "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe". Due to his large frame, facial hair, and deep voice, he was given the nickname "The Walrus of Love".
White had 20 gold and 10 platinum singles, with worldwide record sales in excess of 100 million records, and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Stay safe and well...and don’t believe anyone who tells you too much of a good thing is not good for you.
