Sunday August 1, 2021 “Everywhere” Fleetwood Mac
I am not a Fleetwood Mac fan, sorry. Probably overexposure, but there are so many of their songs, excellent though they may be, that I just don’t need to hear anymore. I respect the remarkable guitar skills of Lindsey Buckingham and am somewhat surprised that Mick Fleetwood doesn’t get listed on ‘best drummers ever’ (or at least most competent) lists but heck I’m sure he doesn’t care when he checks his investments.
However this Fleetwood Mac song, “Everywhere” hasn’t been overplayed and is a lovely pop tune written and sung by keyboard player Christine McVie, born Christine Perfect (real name) to a concert violinist and a faith healer, so she had to be a rock star.
Married to Fleetwood Mac bass guitarist John McVie in 1970, they were both members of various iterations of the band and each stayed with Fleetwood Mac even after their divorce in 1978.
So many stories about this band and all of the internal turmoil, affairs and fighting so I will leave you to do your own research if you have an interest. None of it will change the fact that this is a listenable, sweet song...and it’s not sung by Stevie Nicks.
Stay safe and well...and sing along with someone important to you.
