Friday November 20, 2020 “Good Vibrations” Wilson Phillips

So this is an unexpected cover of the remarkable Beach Boys tune, or maybe it is somewhat expected given the relationships.

Wilson Phillips is a vocal group composed of two of Beach Boy Brian Wilson’s daughters Carne and Wendy along with Chynna Phillips, Michele and John Philips’ of the Mamas and Papas, daughter. 

Wilson Phillips had a huge debut album/CD in 1990 that sold over ten million copies, delivered five top ten hits, won the Billboard Music Award for top single of the year, was nominated for five Grammys, two American Music Awards... and then they vanished.

And here they are nearly thirty years later and sounding great.  I have heard the Beach Boys attempt to perform this song live and believe me they wished they sounded half as good as this live Wilson Phillips version.

Some pretty darn good harmonies on this.  Kind of makes you want to go back to their debut album and give it another listen.
