Tuesday November 30, 2021 “The Killing Moon” Echo & the Bunnymen
So if you were a member of this oddly named group which would you prefer to be, Echo or one of the Bunnymen?
As for the name, according to guitarist and band co-founder Will Sergeant, when the band started out they had no drummer so they used a drum machine which he claimed was called Echo. As for what a ‘Bunnyman’ might be, you're on your own for anything that might even be logical there.
If you are wondering about the meaning of today’s song, here’s some clarity from lyricist and lead singer Ian McCulloch, “I've been on the moon that is 'The Killing Moon.' No one else has really been on that moon because I sing it as I wrote it. It's my moon now. Not the one up in the sky, but 'The Killing Moon' is my moon - I know everything about it. I feel it from day to day, but it changes all the time.”
Now I understand.
All that aside, this really is an interesting top twenty song that has been included in several movies and TV shows.
Stay safe and well...and I prefer the crescent moon over the killing moon.
