Tuesday September 13, 2022 “Love Me Two Times” The Doors
Continuing with the number two we have a suggestion from The Doors, don't love me once, but ‘love me two times”.
The Doors took their band name from Aldous Huxley's narrative about mescaline, The Doors Of Perception, which in turn got its title from a quote by William Blake: "If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.”
Doors guitarist Robby Krieger wrote this song after their keyboard player Ray Manzarek implored the band members to go home and write some songs. Krieger said he came up with "Love Me Two Times" and "Light My Fire" in about an hour.
Jim Morrison was one of the infamous members of the ‘27 Club, that included a number of music artists that died at the age of twenty-seven and included Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin.
Lead singer and primary lyricist for the Doors Jim Morrison was born in Melbourne, Florida on December 8, 1943 and in an odd piece of irony, December 8, Morrison’s birthday, was also the day John Lennon was shot to death.
Stay safe and well…and here's some useless but fun information, Pamela Courson, Jim Morrison's longtime girlfriend, once worked in a boutique owned by the mother of Guns n' Roses guitarist Slash.
