Wednesday September 30, 2020 “Dirty Deeds” AC/DC
Would need to take a look at the list, but I don’t recall much heavy metal, so here we go with a metal misheard lyric. I actually thought this lyric was a bit of a stretch given that it’s the title of the song, but it was amusing enough to include.
I always found the Australian hard rockers AC/DC a bit weird with the founding brothers Angus and Malcom Young’s unusual stage presence and outfits but it is rock and roll and nobody can deny their metallic, super energetic and immediately recognizable songs. And who of us haven’t wondered how frontman and lead singer Brian Johnson and before him Bon Scott could possibly have performed night after night with what had to be grueling vocals.
AC/DC are members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and have sold over 200 million albums/CDs worldwide. That’s 100 million more than Bon Jovi...I’m just saying.
According to songwriter Angus Young the inspiration for this song came from the 1962 cartoon series Beany & Cecil where villain Dishonest John carried a business card that read ‘dirty deeds done dirt cheap’
Oh, the misheard lyric: “Dirty deeds and they’re done with sheep”. Well they would be dirty deeds and I did warn you it was a stretch.
Stay safe and well...and can you say power chords.
