Saturday September 19, 2020 “Celebration” Kool & the Gang
If you want to write a popular song find a kool word and repeat it 49 times.
Hands up who has been dragged out onto the dance floor at a wedding, or even gone willingly when “Celebration” gets played. Yeah, I see a lot of hands and those that don’t have their hands up are just flat out lying.
Recently Ronald “Kahlis' ' Bell, saxophone player, songwriter and co-founder with his brother of Kool & the Gang passed away. Ronald wrote today’s happy, energetic song “Celebration” and although I am no mathematician it seems that if he received only a penny for every time this song got played, he would have been a very wealthy man.
So this may be the most popular song in the world based on the frequency it gets played on the radio, at weddings, sporting events, in movies and TV, at birthdays and everywhere else. Hey I can hear it right now. And here is a truth in music, although the artist may leave us, behind them we have their work so we can continuously celebrate them. I suspect Kahlis Bell is celebrating right now..
Stay safe and well...and when you click on this video and start dancing, I know you want to, I won’t tell anyone.
