Reggae and summer are married together along with the beach, cool waves, cold beer and Margaritas and I believe this Bob Marley reggae tune provides us with the perfect summer attitude, “Don't worry about a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be alright…”
And according to Bob Marley that message was told to him by three little birds that frequented his porch stoop in Kingston, Jamaica. "That really happened," he said. "That's where I got my inspiration." The song is included on Bob Marley & the Wailers ninth album Exodus.
Bob Marley was inducted posthumously as a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001, is ranked number eleven on the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, was among the first inductees into the UK Music Hall of Fame and has sold more than seventy five million albums.
For all of his influence, album airplay on the radio and sold out concerts, Bob Marley’s only top ten hit wouldn’t come until 1980 with “Could You Be Loved”. He would leave us a year later in 1981 at the young age of 36, but he lives forever in our summers with the very cheerful sounds of his reggae music, which he delivered to the world almost single handedly.
