Friday September 17, 2021 “Summer Seed” Lukas Nelson & the Promise of the Real

So let’s get this out of the way right now, Lukas Nelson is Willie Nelson’s son, yes that Willie Nelson.  And his band the Promise of the Real (POTR) are the real deal in that these guys are musician’s musicians who have done tons of studio work, backed Neil Young on tour, supported John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater) and were Bradley Cooper’s backing band in the movie A Star Is Born performing songs written by Lukas.

Lukas Nelson and POTR also appear in Paradox a 2018 American musical film written and directed by Daryl Hannah, and starring Neil Young.

Guitarist, singer/songwriter Lukas Nelson had been touring off and on with his dad since 2007 and like his dad Lukas Nelson and POTR are one of the hardest working bands in show business doing more than 200 shows a year, pre-covid of course.

Today’s song of the day “Summer Seed’ is from Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real’s current album A Few Stars Apart.

Stay safe and well...and enjoy this country, pop, folk rock song.

Some of the stillness I have found is bound to last

Some of the restlessness will live on

Some of the pain I've always known is hard to pass

But a mutual blessing takes the game on

Summer seed become my perennial bloom

Summer's healing coming soon

And the love between us as I lay with you

It sends me floating to the moon

But now you sound the bell that brings me back to you

Someone beside me actually smiled without a mask

I guess there's no use pretending like we're high-born

Someone inside the action pulled me away from the blast

Assuring me my heart would not be torn

Summer seed become my perennial bloom

Summer's healing coming soon

And the love between us as I lay with you

It sends me floating to the moon

But now you sound the bell that brings me back to you

Summer seed become my perennial bloom

Summer's healing coming soon

And the love between us as I lay with you

It sends me floating to the moon

But now you sound the bell that brings me back to you
