Thursday May 13, 2021 “Might Be Right” White Reaper

Interesting retro sound by a current band.

We all have our bad habits, mine is cheesy (not always) pop music with jangly guitars, and like any addict I just can’t get enough of it.

Bad habits aside, this pop song with jangly guitars is a nice tune, harmless, not challenging, no real moral message and fun to listen to by a group named after what appears to be a racist version version of the Black Reaper...probably not racist actually but just young musicians trying to be clever.

Truth be told, which is always the case with song of the day,  like any group that finally makes a breakthrough to radio airplay, these guys have been playing, writing and recording together since 2013...another overnight success.

I was listening to the lyrics of this song, thinking that if someone has spent the time and energy to create a song composed of music and words they must be trying to tell us something.  So as always you will find the words to “Might Be Right” and if you have a moment let me know what it is all about.

Best I can tell relative to the song’s meaning is just tell your sister I told her so.  Regardless, I still like this song and don’t even care what it means, it’s just fun to listen to.  So as the song goes, you might be right, I might be crazy...

Stay safe and well...and aside from the lyrical obscurity the only bad thing about this song is that it ends.

So I woke up with a curse

I was searching I was looking through the purse

Taking measures to defend

Me 'cause you swore you'd always treat me like a friend

And I always fall

A little short in front of you

Yeah I always fall

A little short in front of you

Alright, and if you still won't go

Tell your sister that I told her so

Tie this shirt into another bow

Take a dip into the stash you stole

If you think I'm gonna leave that golden girl

Up alone all night

I may have tricked myself, she couldn't shake it

So I guess you might be right

So it's easy to believe

Well I suppose it simply wasn't meant to be

Well my mother told me first

She said when things are getting bad, look out they might be getting worse

And I always fall

A little short in front of you

Yeah I always fall

A little short in front of, a little short in front of you

Alright, and if you still won't go

Tell your sister that I told her so

Tie this shirt into another bow

Take a dip into the stash you stole

If you think I'm gonna lay that golden girl

Up alone all night

I may have tricked myself, she couldn't shake it

So I guess you might be right

We're gonna keep the lights down

Keep the lights down, keep the lights

Keep the lights down, keep the lights down

Keep the lights

Keep the lights down, keep the lights down

Keep the lights

Keep the lights down, keep the lights down

Keep the lights down

Alright, and if you still won't go

Tell your sister that I told her so

Tie this shirt into another bow

Take a dip into the stash you stole

If you think I'm gonna lay that golden girl

Up alone all night

I may have tricked myself, she couldn't shake it

So I guess you might be right
